Build Your Investment Knowledge from the Ground Up

We're launching our structured investment theory program this September 2025. It's for anyone who wants to understand how markets actually work—not get-rich schemes, just solid foundations. Our approach combines practical frameworks with real-world context that helps you make better decisions with your own money.

Who's Teaching This

Our instructors bring years of market experience and, more importantly, they can explain complex ideas without the jargon overload.

Fionn Hennessy, Investment Theory Instructor

Fionn Hennessy

Market Analysis & Portfolio Theory

Fionn spent twelve years analyzing European equity markets before shifting to education. He's particularly good at breaking down why certain investment strategies work in some conditions and fail in others. His sessions focus on pattern recognition and risk assessment.

Brónagh Kilduff, Behavioral Finance Instructor

Brónagh Kilduff

Behavioral Finance & Decision Making

Brónagh works at the intersection of psychology and markets. She helps people understand why we make poor financial decisions under pressure and how to build better decision-making frameworks. Her background includes behavioral research at Trinity College Dublin.

Tomasz Lipiński, Financial Mathematics Instructor

Tomasz Lipiński

Financial Mathematics & Valuation

Tomasz makes numbers accessible. He teaches valuation methods and mathematical concepts without assuming you're a quant. His approach emphasizes understanding the logic behind formulas rather than just memorizing them.

Siobhán Ó Dálaigh, Economic Context Instructor

Siobhán Ó Dálaigh

Economic Context & Market History

Siobhán connects current market conditions to historical patterns. She helps students understand economic cycles and how policy decisions ripple through markets. Her specialty is explaining complex macroeconomic concepts through recent examples.

What You'll Actually Learn

Our twelve-week program covers essential investment concepts in a logical sequence. Each module builds on the previous one, and we skip the fluff. You'll work through real scenarios and case studies that mirror actual market situations.

01

Market Fundamentals & Structure

How markets operate, who the participants are, and what drives price movements. We'll look at different asset classes and how they behave under various conditions.

02

Risk Assessment & Management

Understanding different types of risk, how to measure them, and practical strategies for managing exposure. This includes volatility analysis and correlation patterns.

03

Portfolio Construction Principles

Modern portfolio theory, diversification strategies, and asset allocation. We'll work through practical examples of building balanced portfolios for different objectives.

04

Valuation Methods & Analysis

How to assess what something is actually worth using fundamental analysis, comparable methods, and discounted cash flow models. Less theory, more application.

05

Economic Indicators & Interpretation

Reading economic data, understanding central bank decisions, and connecting macro trends to investment implications. We focus on indicators that actually matter.

06

Behavioral Patterns & Decision Frameworks

Common psychological traps, cognitive biases, and how to build systems that help you make rational decisions even when markets get emotional.

Interactive learning session at Dontarix

How It Works

Live Weekly Sessions

Two 90-minute sessions per week, held Tuesday and Thursday evenings at our Midleton location. Sessions are recorded if you miss one, but live attendance helps with discussion and questions.

Case Study Work

Each module includes practical exercises based on real market scenarios. You'll analyze actual situations, not hypothetical textbook examples. Small group work is encouraged.

Optional Reading Materials

We provide curated resources for deeper exploration. No required textbooks—all essential content is covered in sessions. But if you want to dig deeper on specific topics, we point you in the right direction.

Ongoing Discussion Access

Private forum for questions between sessions. Instructors check in regularly, and peer discussion often surfaces interesting perspectives you wouldn't get in structured class time.

September 2025 Cohort

We're opening enrollment in June 2025 for our autumn program. Class size is limited to twenty participants to maintain quality discussion and individual attention.

Program Duration: 12 weeks (September 9 - November 27, 2025)

Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 7:00-8:30 PM

Location: Riverside Estate, Midleton, Co. Cork
